Restorations
We specialize in the restoration of all post-war BMW models ranging from the tiny eye-catching Isetta up to the latest classics on the scene, such as the 5 and 6 series of the eighties. Our philosophy has always been to produce a classic, boasting incredible mechanical reliability and performance, while preserving the visible beauty that all BMWs possess. Depending on the goals and budget for each project, we can offer a detailed course of action that will get you the most bang for your buck, while setting a distinct plan for the future of your BMW. We tend to fit all classics into 3 different categories.
Level I (keep her on the road)
Many of our customers enjoy driving a 2002, for example, but don't have the budget to do a full on restoration. We understand the "love with low budget" position and it is our goal to keep these vehicles running well, and most importantly, driving safe. In many cases this allows the enthusiast to bring their favorite BMW up to par mechanically, before they embark on a new paint job or a refreshed interior.
Level II (daily driver show-piece)
This stage of restoration is for those who want to drive an extremely nice example of a BMW, but not quite a concours car. On the mechanical side this stage would include such things as engine replacements, 5-speed conversions, fuel injection conversions, suspension upgrades, etc. This could also include full paint jobs, rust removal and treatment, interior renovations, etc. This is the level to which you can own an incredible classic that you aren't afraid to drive on a daily basis or bring to club occasions. We have found this extent of restoration produces the most enjoyment for our customers without losing entire college funds or retirement plans!
Level III (Concours show winners)
This is a very time consuming and expensive undertaking. In many cases you will hear "Time and Money". Many race engine producers have been known to say that the last 10% of horsepower is 80% of the cost. This is also very true for a concours restoration. Each case will be very unique when going this far. Please contact us for any questions regarding a concours restoration to decide if it is best for you.
